IP65 emergency lighting luminaires are designed for environments that demand complete dust protection and resistance to water jets from any direction. Car parks, cold stores, food production facilities, wash-down areas, sheltered outdoor locations and industrial production lines are typical applications for this protection class.
The ZBS IP65 family comprises the compact TWINLIGHT MIDI IP65, the Hensel-enclosure SAFELIGHT HENSEL IP65 and, for pool and marine applications, the IP68-rated Underwater LED Lighting luminaire.
Sealed housings, stainless fixings and appropriate cable glands allow these luminaires to perform fully in harsh conditions while retaining the same test button and charge indicator features as the standard models.

What does the IP65 protection class mean?
In IP65 the first digit (6) indicates complete protection against dust and the second digit (5) protection against low-pressure water jets from any direction. IP68 indicates resistance to continuous immersion in water.
Which protection class is required in a car park?
In enclosed car parks, emergency lighting luminaires rated at least IP54 are recommended because of vehicle washing, exhaust soiling and humidity — and IP65 in areas where wash-down takes place.
